Very Important Pet Parent Spotlight
Terri Florio, Jethro, Star & Whitney
What brought you to Florida?
I moved to Florida 24 years ago to work at the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation which provides after school and summer programs. I live in Jax Beach with my 9 year old son and three pups.
Have you always had pets?
Yes–since I was in 1st grade
Please introduce us to your Fur Family. How did you meet and become FURever companions?
Jethro–a 10 year old Tibetan Spaniel whom my mom rescued when he was 9 months. He became part of our family in July 2018 after my mom passed away.
Star–Star is a beagle/hound mix and came to us as a puppy from Clay County Animal Control in May 2019 as a 10 week old puppy.
Whitney–Whitney is our COVID dog. My 9 year old attended Jax Humane Society camp the week before the city shut down due to COVID. We took her as a foster but after a week she became a keeper!
What do you love most about your pet(s)?
Star is a stubborn lovable goofball. She chases lizards and bugs and although the youngest, tries to boss the other two around.
Whitney is the old lady. She likes to sleep most of the day.
Jethro follows us everywhere. His personality changed from a grumpy old man to a young boy when he came to live with us!
How has 9 to 5 Pets made your life easier? What do your pets enjoy the most from our service?
9 to 5 has made my life so much easier by checking on my pets each day and giving them TLC while I’m at work. They have also helped with Pet Care for overnight and out of town trips. Extremely flexible and it’s obvious that they really love the pets they care for. I love getting the pictures from the visits–some of which look like professional quality!
What are your favorite activities you share with your pet?
They love throwing the ball and riding in the car or just being lap dogs (Star & Jethro)
Share a fond memory with your pet:
Not a fond memory–but hurricane evacuations are always an adventure with this crew!
What life lessons have you learned from your Fur Family?
Be Happy

What is the best gift anyone has ever given to you?
The gift of their time! 🙂
